Since its founding in 1786, Friends has educated girls and boys together — a revolutionary concept in revolutionary times. Throughout history, the School has continued to set the pace in educational innovation.

As the school celebrates its 232st anniversary, we now embark on an even more ambitious campaign, Light the Future. The funds raised for Light the Future will have a powerful impact on the experience of teaching and learning at Friends. Light the Future is a critical building block in our school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence. It will give us the 21st century tools we need to realize an innovative and integrated curriculum for the next decade and beyond. It will help us continue to attract the best and brightest from the academic world to join our team. Just as important, it directly links to the Quaker belief in each person’s Inner Light; and the opportunity to grow and learn in a dynamic, collaborative environment that is both nurturing and inspiring.
